Giuliana Rancic has Breast Cancer

So very sad about Giuliana Rancic. She has undergone 3 rounds of IVF, a miscarriage, and now..breast Cancer. She is truly a strong person, and I wish her all the luck. Life is strange..sad sometimes. But she is so inspiring..she sees the positive in this saying..if she didn't do this IVF cycle..they would have never caught her early stages of cancer.

I am really sad about this though. Does IVF homornes create breast cancer. I am curious about the side effects now. I will absolutely get an exam after I am done breast feeding or after the baby is born.

  4. I was also devastated. Watched the video - she is so strong. She is such an inspiration to me.I hope she can get it sorted and move on to IVF again. The baby will be even more precious, because as she said, it saved her.

  5. It's very sad and quite eye opening. There are always risks when we're filling our bodies with all these synthetic hormones but obviously this hit close to home for all of us infertiles!

  6. I had never heard of a precautionary mammogram prior to IVF.

  8. You know, I don't think that the IVF hormones cause breast cancer, but I think infertility is linked with ovarian cancer, and not breastfeeding before 30 is linked with breast cancer. But hey, do we really need to worry about something that did not happen? We could always die from a heart attack or MVA. I am full of good news today :) Happy ICLW. Don't worry, really. If it happens, we'll deal with it like we deal with infertility and every other problem in life.

  9. I read this recently too, and was so saddened, I know that God isn't supposed to give you more than he thinks you can handle... but I bet it doesnt feel like that to her right now :(

  10. So sad, but so glad they caught the cancer. I never thought about IVF hormones causing breast cancer, but my MIL was just telling me yesterday that hormones they give you when you go through menopause can. What an awful thing to think about! Happy ICLW :)

  11. It's so sad that all that can happen to one person, but also, going through this in the public eye gets the word out into the general pubic about both issues.

  12. I saw a similar article about this and felt so sad for her. As if infertility is not bad enough to then have to face cancer! But what really astounded me was the truly awful comments the article had! I could not believe the number of people who were saying things such as "some people will do anything for publicity", as if she had asked for cancer in order to be in the news more. It continually blows my mind how ignorant some people can be.
