Random thoughts from the fainter!

Got another blood test and U/S today. Yes, I fainted again. That really sucked, and I am disappointed, but I can not dwell on the failure of stopping myself from fainting. Because- well, I think it may be happening again, since I will have to get my blood test tomorrow again, and the next day and the next day. I am trying not to think how much that really is going to make me faint, and just be calm and relaxed. All the nurses and doctors know me now as the fainting girl. I hate it..I really do. But I am grateful the medicine has made my estrogen level 945, and my follies are growing. Most are around 11. One is 14, and one is 6. Not happy about the one that has 6 millimeters, but the doctor said that is normal. The doctor thought I need to come back everyday, since the follies may grow and estrogen level may spike. I appreciate the caution, but I really wish I did not have to get another blood test. I think it really is for the best though. The doctors know what they are doing.

At this stage, I am not sure if it is me, but I feel really bloated and gassy. The twinges and sharp pains are increasing. I am officially on vacation now, and I am so bored. I wish I could go somewhere or walk, but all I want to do is lie down and sleep. I am drinking so much water, it really is best that I am in my house close to the bathroom. I hate that I have such a small bladder.seriously, if I take 5 sips, within 15 minutes, I have to go to the bathroom. Embarrassing.

I am in a little of a daze..and real spacey. This post was kind of a random vent.
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend:) and are feeling good.
go follies go!!! 2, 4, 6, 8 who do we appreciate!!  You know I really appreciate my friends, family, husband, my doctors, and all you bloggers who comment and make this experience so much more easier and like I am not doing it alone. I can not imagine going through this without the support of all of you. Even if you do not comment, I know someone is witnessing what I am going through and I am not alone. more random thought that swirls in my mind:
do any of you feel kind of spacey and high after you give yourself the stim shots. I have to lie down for a few minutes. It kind of feels painful too.

I'll be back, but I got to go pee! :)

  1. Sorry about the fainting :( This will all be over soon enough! I've never fainted before and imagine it would be pretty scary.

I am also feeling bloated and definitely aware that something is going on down there. My nurse told me today that it will probably get worse over the next couple of days. I'm also feeling crazy tired too. I'll be glad when this is done!

    We can do this!

  2. sorry about the fainting--have they tried drawing your blood while you're laying down? i used to do that for my patients that knew they were fainters and it often helped to avoid that?

btw--if you do the blog award thing and need a distraction while you're stuck at home and not peeing, i awarded you one over at my blog :)

  3. I think the mid-final phase of the stims is the hardest part of an IVF cycle. The increasing estrogen was throwing me off the loop. Oh! those hormones!
It sounds your progress is great! how many follies do you have? any estimates for a potential ER date? you are getting sooo close! Yay!!!:)

  4. Happy ICLW!

I hope your follies keep growing nicely!! I felt really bloated during my stim cycle..and the!

I wish you the best of luck with your cycle! xx

  5. I hope your follies go go go! I didn't faint during my stims but I just felt sooo sleepy all the time!

  6. Glad things are growing well. Sorry for the every day b/w and u/s... but it will be worth it in the long run. Best wishes.

  7. I can't believe you keep fainting - you poor thing! Glad to hear your body is responding well - you're almost there!!!

  8. Hi.. haven't felt weird after the stim shots so far.. but the Gonal-F pen seems so easy that maybe that helps? I'm also feeling bloated and have some twinges down there.. if I sit with my legs crossed or tucked up (which I normally always do), it feels like something is 'in the way' in there! And I've only got a few follicles!
Btw... do you know any more about what estrogen levels we should have at each stage and what does it mean...?

  9. Forgot to say.. also going to the loo every 10 minutes!

  10. Sorry that you fainted! I always had stubborn veins and although I never fainted, I had to constantly be pricked more than once and sometimes in more than one arm! I hope this cycle works out for you! I just found you and added your link and now following! I also gave you an award! ;-)
Happy ICLW! (And you are definitely not alone!)

  11. Visiting from ICLW. So sorry you are fainting so often, but hoping it will all be worth it. Grow follies, grow!

  12. Here from ICLW (#54).

I used to be a fainter with bloodwork, but I've learned some tricks over the years. Number 1, and most important, is do not LOOK at anything they're doing. Secondly, ask them inane questions so they'll talk to you about something else. Three, eat a peppermint while it's happening (one of those candy ones). and Four, get them to lean you back, just in case 1, 2, and 3 don't work.

Glad I found your blog! Good luck with those follies!
